So the Germans not just defending a few attacks too
I may have a few news ideas to add I'll let you know after Sunday

Yes I want the Germans to have fun with this one as there is no way we can do all the stuff in The Devils Brigade as there are no buildings of any quality.
So as Pride says we will play that down a bit and just use the site best we can, I am up for any ideas especially if they stray from the normal format.

I would love a mine field or a barbed wire area to negotiate like in Anzio I am not sure how we could do this though.

I have been thinking about some sort of nine system that does not use explosives or at least not ones that blow up under your foot.
If there was a way to have a series of pressure switches wired like fairy lights in a long string say 5ft apart they could be connected to a control box any distance away. This could be a loud audio system with explosions on or an alarm/ MG42 fire anything or even a pyro charge.

As I work for BT I have lots of grass green wire that is easily hidden in long grass etc. I also have 2 trip wire mines I made years ago that set off a 9mm blank.

Do you think it would be a good team event for the Germans to pull the AT gun up to the hill before the game starts rather than me just taking it with the jeep :D

The game is now listed viewtopic.php?f=242&t=16898&p=234458#p234458

I will have a word with the AGS lads at Crete, they speciallise in all things minefeild related. Bosh has his teller mines and Gordon made up some mines and a Bangalore to clear them for the Corridor game. It may be that I am able to borrow some or at least find out how they are constructed and used. It could also provide a roll for engineers diffusing things

I am going to be mad busy soon with the house move etc.
Does anyone else want to look after the bookings and payment on this.

I was trying to think of having the money direct to Taffy by paypal but I need confirmation on payment and with all the money Taffy must get over paypay etc it may get confusing for him to keep me updated.

I suspect we need to try and get any of the facebook guys that go to EX-SITE to join this forum to book on, and to have payment go to one of us by paypal.

Any ideas/ offers to sort it out?
We need to amend the booking thread to state how to make payment soon.

If you opt for PM's from people be aware it gets in a mess with the number of PM's all with the same title, so you need to put this in excel or a note book to keep track of who is doing what.

We also have the 34th inf guys not booking on the forum so do need a PM or email of who is going and confirmation of payment etc.

Yes mate happy to help with this, presumably forum members not too much of a problem, will post on the thread, just need to check with taffy for confirmation of payment? Ex cite guys will book on through taffy? will he update me with a list of names/side playing etc? How are the 34th booking? are they forum members and able to do it by PM?

As you say can knock up a spread sheet to try and keep it in order.

Here is the one I used for Dirty Dozen simple one.

Reply on this yesterday from Taffy

taffyairsoft@hotmail.co.uk

I will keep you updated as and when people pay, can you ask them to send as a gift please butty :)

So if you contact him he will sort it with you.

For 34th inf PM CJW957 remember they are 1 day guys so it's £24 for them and needs to say this on excel in some way so we can keep track for the game.

ok have asked hard to get definites so early but i think we would be around the 10 figure , give or take 1 or so as we are a group of 15 and lots said they would come :)

if you start taking deposits etc let me know as i can then pin them down a bit more and all have been told to keep it quiet :)

cheers

chris

OK Nigel will PM Taffy & CJW957 tonight. Are we taking advanced deposits on this or just updating the thread as people express an interest and asking for payment later?

Hi Marsha

I believe I am Cin C and your goodself 2 in C. There certainly is scope for having to recapture an officer from the yanks, but as we are controlling the game I think it could only be for a fairly short time otherwise the other person has to run all the Germans on their own. Good idea though :good: I think the plan is for the 2nd day to be held in the Quarry, at the start there is a fairly open peice of ground between the advancing Germans and the Allied position, however one of us will lead 1/2 our troops on a short flank march to outflank and hopefull roll up the allied line. After that we need plenty of idea's to fill the day so keep them coming.

If it does end up with Lt Gruber being held captive, the Yanks better have some decent coffee

Where the feck did my posting go I answered this earlier

Here is part of my PM to Taffy tonight.

Prideofengland has offered to look after the bookings on the forum and we will ask for money late June or early July this gives people a chance to drop out without having to re-sell their place if something comes up, I think it is more fair to do it that way rather then force them to pay to be on the list.

So if you have a list of guys going can you give the details over to Pride by PM and he will sort it out. :good:
So need to know what side and full 2 days etc and you can get their money how you want. I hate facebook so have no wish to try organising them on there it's a feking mess to me :slap:

Good idea Marsha :good:
As Priide says you will need to control them if you do this so it may be better to have a third guy who is a specialist in something.

I was also thinking about night games, could we have troops spread out over a large area on lone guard and have the other side use stealth capture with knife etc to get prisoners

Yes the stealth thing works well in the half light/dark, we did something like it at Grafton and there were some heart stopping moments with people walking past you a foot away unaware you were even there. Perhaps we could have half of one side on sentry duty with the other half as a reserve to answer an alarm if the sneaky side get careless. After an alarm the reserve move back to their guard post and the attackers start working forward again. Sentry,s can be rotated from the reserve, period torches add to the effect.

What I am thinking is if we get 20 per side :D ideal situation I know.
Then each side has one squad of 10 on sentry duty and the other 10 go on prisoner capture this would work awesome in proper dark. It also gives a slight feel of the Devils Brigade movie to it this works for both sides equally.
We need to tell people that rubber knifes are a bonus to have for this event if we want to do this and promote a night stealth mission.

It may be worth endex at 1600 day 1 so there is a bit more social time and relax before the night games as I think people will want both.
People paying for 1 day only it is up to them if they stay for the fun.

At grafton the sentries were armed and the others unarmed trying to sneak through the lines it worked very well and could easily be adapted for our means, those on prisoner capture are only armed with rubber knives means they have to be stealthy and get up close unnoticed rather than having firefights breaking out everywhere in the darkness?

I think we will be lucky if 1/2 those attending are up for a night mission!

My thoughts on all counts mate :D

I think we could maybe spark a chat about it on the interest thread.

Or we start a Night Mission thread and ask who is up for one and what to bring if they are.
The fact that we are willing to do this should give people hope of more than a spray and pray weekend.

EDIT

I have just posted the question up.

Also movement of the tank, it would be nice to have the tank move a bit from its initial hill top point to be used in the second mission as described in the video. Now it needs to be moved in a safe manner so if there is no Porta for this then who on the German side?
There is the option that I jump in it for that bit as they won't see me anyway and Spiers will run the US on his own as they will all be in one unit at that point.
